This is a Claxton's bottling of heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky from the Loch Lomond distillery. It was placed in a single hogshead cask back in February 2005 and left to mature for 13 years before being bottled at cask strength without any chill-filtration or additional colours. Just 286 bottles were produced.
Nose: Banana fritters and charcoal, soft peatsmoke with a pinch of white pepper.
Palate: Salted caramel, cut grass, lemon zest and rye toast.
Finish: Soft salinity, mixed with continued citrus freshness.
