Gold of Mauritius Dark Rum is produced from molasses which is aged for 3 months in port wine barrels before being filtered, followed by another 8-12 months.
Tasting Notes :
Appearance : dark and intense
Nose: Slight musty cork-like note with dark chocolate, hot sawn wood and peanuts.
Palate: Walnuts, wet cardboard, some more walnuts and sweet dark chocolate covered peanuts with peppery alcohol prickle.
Finish: Fiery finish with walnuts, dark chocolate and oak.
