Planteray Ambrosius Single Cask Dom. Rep. PX Sherry Cask 2014 48,8% 70cl

This is single cask N° 06/30 specialy selected and bottled for Ambrosius of the Planteray Rum range. 

This is a PX-finished agricole-style Dominican rum with strong sherry influence — sweet but balanced, rich but not heavy. Because it’s single cask, it has uniqueness and character.

Maturation scheme:  

1. 8 years in ex‑bourbon (American oak) in tropical climate. 
2. 1 year in Ferrand casks (French oak, continental conditions) 
3. 2 years finish in Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks.

Tasting Notes :

Nose: ⁠ Rich, delicious aromas of raisins, dried fruits (prunes, dates), nuts, toffee, honey, and a gentle oak / vanilla influence. Some sherry / PX sweetness, fig, perhaps dark chocolate undertones

Palate: Full, luscious, with sweet fruit, dried plums, chocolate, nutty notes, coffee and warm oak. Spices, slight caramel, gentle tannins or dry edge from PX finish.

Finish: Long, lingering, with PX / sherry signature: dried fruits, gentle spice, a bit of oak bitterness perhaps, and sweetness in balance.
