A rich and sweet whisky from Benrinnes distillery, on the northern shoulder of Ben Rinnes, 700 feet above sea level.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Bright mahogany
Nose: Chocolate liqueurs, well-worn leather, soft smoke and dense floral aromas open on the nose, with pine needles, polished wood and dried fruit underneath
Palate: sweet and rich, offering rum-like fruitiness, sultanas, sticky dates and charred, smoky oak.
Finish: Dries out slightly in the finish, where there is also a 'catch' which might be taken for peat-smoke. Medium length, leaving a faintly sherried aftertaste.
Land: Scotland
Distillery: Benrinnes
Alcohol by volume: 43%
