To celebrate the 5 years of existence of Christian Drouin's Expérimental range and its tenth edition, the Christian Drouin distillery has partnered with the most iconic Scottish whisky brand: Springbank. Their relationship with Springbank is not new, as the distillery had used their calvados casks for aging some of their whiskies twenty years ago.
The challenge for this new edition was to marry the apple notes with the peaty character of the Springbank casks (10-12 ppm). For this, a 19-year-old Calvados Pays d’Auge of great depth was selected. It was matured for 5 months in 8 of these casks, resulting in a limited edition of 2,130 bottles.
