Finlaggan whisky is bottled by the Vintage Malt Whisky Company, but the exact distillery where it is produced is not officially disclosed. What is known is that Finlaggan is an Islay single malt, meaning it comes from one of the distilleries on the island of Islay in Scotland.

Many whisky enthusiasts speculate that Finlaggan often comes from Lagavulin, Caol Ila, or sometimes Laphroaig, depending on the bottling and batch, but the source can vary over time.

Because it's a "secret Islay" bottling, the mystery is part of the brand's appeal.

In contrast to its younger brother Original, Old Reserve contains older casks and the proportion of fresh bourbon casks is also somewhat higher: 50% first-fill bourbon casks are married with around 45% refilled bourbon casks and 5% sherry casks.

Giuseppe Jasci et sa femme Maria, représentants la deuxième génération de vignerons, ont initié la culture biologique au domaine en 1980, faisant ainsi parti des premiers domaines viticoles italiens certifiés bio.

Aujourd'hui, Donatello Jasci et sa femme Piera sont en charge du domaine, et bénéficient du soutien et de l'expérience de la précédente génération.
