Founded in 1832 by the Galbraith family, Glen Scotia Distillery is one of three remaining distilleries in the Campbeltown region of Scotland. The distillery is said to be haunted by the ghost of Duncan McCallum, one of its former owners. Glen Scotia produces both smoky and non-smoky single malt whiskey and is enjoying growing popularity among connoisseurs.

Glen Scotia 10 Years Unpeated matured the entire time in ex-bourbon casks. Bottled at a mild 40 vol. % alcohol, not chill filtered.

Tasting Notes: 

Nose: Malt sugar and citrus, mild sweetness with dry nuttiness and herbs, roasted aromas.

Palate:  Tart-sweet with notes of citrus and orange marmalade, brown sugar and some spice.

Finish: soft and gentle spice.

Proefnotitie: Rijp en sappig fruit met een mooie kruidigheid. Volle wijn met een zeer mooie structuur maar fijne tannines. Houtlagering van 20 tot 22 maanden in nieuwe en gebruikte vaten. Kan zeker nog enkele jaren bewaren.

Het Huis: De start van het succesverhaal van Château du Cèdre is begonnen in het begin de 20ste eeuw. Hij verhuisde naar de Lot waar zijn zoon Charles werd geboren. In 1958 richtte Charles samen met zijn vrouw Marie-Thérèse Château du Cèdre op. In 1973 brachten ze hun eerste wijn op de markt. Château du Cèdre bezit sinds 2012 een certificaat van biologische wijnbouw. Het werk in de wijnkelder heeft eigenlijk maar één doel : op een zo natuurlijk mogelijke wijze het sap van de druiven in wijn om te zetten, en deze wijn moet een reflectie zijn van het oogstjaar, het terroir en de druiven. Het terroir van de Cahors biedt zowel de mogelijkheid voor de productie van toegankelijke wijnen die jong kunnen gedronken worden als zeer grote bewaarwijnen.

Tasting Notes :

Appearance: Light golden amber, clear and bright.

Nose: Gentle and sweet with floral notes, vanilla, soft oak, honey, and hints of citrus and fresh orchard fruits like apples and pears.

Palate: Smooth and medium-bodied. Flavors of malted barley, toffee, light spice (nutmeg, cinnamon), and subtle oak influence. There's a nice balance between sweetness and light peppery warmth.

Finish: Moderate length. Clean and soft with lingering notes of vanilla, gentle spice, and a touch of oak.
