Janneau Armagnac VSOP is a classic and highly refined French brandy from the heart of Gascony, crafted using traditional double-distillation in alambic armagnacais stills. This VSOP expression is a harmonious blend of eaux-de-vie, some of which have been aged for up to 20 years in oak casks, offering a smooth yet deeply expressive introduction to fine Armagnac.

Distillery:

Founded in 1851 by Pierre-Etienne Janneau in Condom, Maison Janneau is one of the oldest and most prestigious houses producing Armagnac. The family-run estate is renowned for combining historical distillation methods with careful aging processes, maintaining complete control from grape to bottle to ensure exceptional quality and authentic regional character.

Druif/druiven: 100% Syrah (afkomstig van oude wijngaarden van 20 tot 100 jaar oud).

Appellatie: Cornas.

Stijl: Krachtige, diepe en complexe rode wijn met een indrukwekkende structuur, grote mineraliteit en een perfect evenwicht tussen concentratie en frisheid.

Vinificatiegegevens: De druiven ondergaan een koude maceratie gedurende een week, waarna de fermentatie op natuurlijke wijze op gang komt met indigene gisten en regelmatige pigeages. De wijn rijpt vervolgens gedurende drie maanden op cuve en daarna circa één jaar in eikenhouten vaten van 2 tot 8 jaar oud.

Proefnotitie: Een intense en gelaagde neus met aroma's van rijpe donkere kersen, zwarte bessen, violette bloemtonen en subtiele kruidige accenten van zwarte peper. In de mond toont de wijn zich vol en gestructureerd, met fijne maar stevige tannines, een levendige spanning en een langdurige, minerale afdronk.

Foodpairing: Deze krachtige rode wijn komt fantastisch tot zijn recht bij rijke vleesgerechten zoals lamsvlees, wild, rood vlees van de grill of een verfijnde stoofpot.
